“If the cowl does not make the monk, the monk dithers about his identity.
The more he is dithering, the more his cowl waves in shaping up, until it withdraws its own development and ends up to the basic shape of a cross.
It is then, when doubting about his faith, that the monk finds again his way, surely not in having his shoulders covered by certainty, but in their being naked and exposed to the protecting emptiness of the sky . Stefano Caggiano ”
